RDML Mary M. Jackson, USN Official Photo_DSC1320 copySecretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Mary M. Jackson for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment commander, Navy Installations Command, Washington, District of Columbia. Jackson is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida.Vice Admiral Jackson, who was a speaker during Generation W and co-moderated our Mission to Serve: Women on the Front Lines program, assumed command of Commander, Navy Region Southeast in July 2014.  Her personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (two awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and various unit citations and campaign medals.
