Lisa Gersh becomes CEO of Goop

Lisa Gersh, Goop CEOIt looks as though Gwyneth Paltrow has big plans for expanding her startup.   She recently hired former Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia CEO, Lisa Gersh, to run Goop.

Lisa, who was a speaker during Generation W 2013, is a media-industry maven with a lot of startup experience.  According to a recent article in Fortune, Lisa will “apply her strategic thinking about marrying content and commerce toward helping Paltrow compete with Stewart and build her own global lifestyle brand.”

In true Gwyneth fashion, the offer to become Goop’s CEO happened over a home-cooked meal.  “Gwyneth invited me over to her house in LA for dinner, which she pulled off effortlessly,” says Gersh in the Fortune article.  Over “an amazing chicken stir-fry” and salmon with hoisin sauce, the two women brainstormed what Goop’s future might look like with Gersh at the helm.

We cannot wait to see how Lisa expands this lifestyle brand.  Click here to read the entire article.
