Kickstarter. I’m not sure how many of you have participated in a crowdfunding campaign, but Kickstarter is a kick in the ass! It is a total commitment and a very visible declaration of intent. You learn quickly that you have to be fearless! It also makes you a bit vulnerable, putting your most precious idea out there for a vote. You wait and wonder and then, as you witness first-hand confirmation of the support of people pledging their dollars for your idea, you feel exhilarated. I can tell you that creating WOWsdom! The Girl’s Guide to the Positive and the Possible and the decision to put it out to the universe for validation was both daunting and thrilling.
The positive and the possible are the bedrock of Generation W. We are so grateful for the outpouring of positivity from the backers who helped us reach the initial fundraising goal and who have made WOWsdom! possible. With the creation of this book, which will be a great tool for building confidence, self-esteem, personal worth, leadership and mentorship skills, countless girls will be put on their own paths toward success.
Although our Kickstarter campaign ends tonight at 10:00pm EST (click HERE to support & share it), this is just the beginning of our mission to create a platform for girls that will help them become the very best versions of themselves. WOWsdom! is set to change the world—one girl at a time!
Speaking of changing the world, excitement abounds as planning is underway for Generation WORKS, a dedicated day of service led by women and girls, working with and on behalf of our entire community. We have 15 projects ready to go! Won’t you join us February 4th? Sign up to volunteer HERE. Then, on March 31st, amazing speakers will once again lift our spirits, ch allenge our minds, and connect our hearts at GENERATION W 2017 where we will celebrate IMAGINATION, INNOVATION and INSPIRATION. We have special holiday tickets available now—click HERE to give a great gift to someone special on your list. Or, why not treat yourself?
Wishing all of you, wherever you are, and whatever your inspiration, the happiest of holidays. We are all grateful to be part of Generation W where there is always an open mind, an open heart, and a desire to lend a helping hand. Together is where our strength can be felt and shared. A very special personal thank you to an amazing team (and you know how I love teams): Kasia Swierczynska, Shavone Steele, Sara Goldsmith, Sherry Levin, Patti Minglin, Angela Spears and the special inspiration of Yvette Angelique Hyater-Adams who bring WOW and Wisdom to W.
