Generation WORKS: HabiJax

As we prepare for Generation WORKS on February 4, 2017, we will be featuring some of the agencies and projects we will be working with to transform the city of Jacksonville and the lives of the people who are part of our neighborhoods and communities.

HabiJax is one of the largest non-profit affordable housing builders in Duval County. HabiJax is considered to be one of the most successful Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the United States, having provided homeownership opportunities and other housing services to over 2,000 families. In addition, HabiJax is an advocate for affordable housing and fair housing policies and provides workshops and other training to help families improve their housing conditions. HabiJax is a multifaceted organization with many roles: builder, community developer, mortgage lender and affordable housing advocate. Click here to visit their website.

During Generation WORKS we will be working with HabiJax in the New Town area by Edward Waters College.  The project will take place on one or more active construction sites in need of painting, landscaping, and/or installing vinyl siding.  This project is presented by University of North Florida. Please note that volunteers for this project must be 16 years of age or older.
