Catalina Alers-Alers’ Instagram Take Over

We loved having Generation WOW speaker Catalina Alers-Alers take over the WOW Instagram page last week.  In case you missed it, we are sharing her inspirational images below.

We can’t wait to see Catalina at Generation WOW on November 1st!

“Graduation day at UNF was bittersweet for my family and me. My dad’s death is the best worst thing to ever happen to me. That’s not something people normally say about losing a parent. But at the time, I was dragging my feet in community college without any real focus. Losing my dad was a catalyst for getting my butt in gear to make him and my mom proud so their hard (REAL HARD) work of raising me didn’t go to waste. Coming out stronger from a tragic event is never easy, but it can be done.”⠀

“I love living in Jacksonville. There’s always something new to learn about our history! Springfield is a historic neighborhood that I’m proud to live in. It’s slowly come back to life as people invest their time, money and love into making it the destination it once was. It’s a beautiful reminder of how important a strong community is.”⠀

“My radio family at @979kissfm is a bunch of weirdos that I’m so grateful for. Having a group you can constantly collaborate with is exciting because it feeds creativity. Try to find those people who bring out the best in you, even if your best is as awkward as us. “⠀

“It’s easy to constantly compare yourself to your peers, especially with social media. I’ve been doing it for years. But we’re all on different paths going at a different pace. It’s okay to critique yourself to become better, but be patient and be kind with yourself. “⠀
