Sharon Wamble-King, Senior, Vice President, Enterprise Communication
Sharon Wamble-King is Florida Blue’s senior vice president of enterprise communication. In this role, Wamble-King is responsible for strategic communications including social media, media relations and reputation leadership, plus employee, human resource, sales, provider, member and executive communications.
Prior to joining Florida Blue in 2006, Wamble-King served as vice president of communication strategy and internal communication for Aetna. Throughout her career, Wamble-King has held leadership positions for several large, complex and global organizations. She served as principal for K-WAM Management Consulting in Castro Valley, Calif.; business consultant for Arthur Andersen, LLP, in San Francisco; change communication consultant for William M. Mercer in San Francisco; and executive staff and director for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, Calif. Wamble-King also held positions at Blue Cross of California.
During her career, Wamble-King has been active in community and professional organizations. She is a trustee at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and at Florida Memorial University in Miami. She also serves on the boards of, the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, the Tampa Museum of Art and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida in Orlando.
Wamble-King is an alumna of Leadership Florida and Leadership Jacksonville. She is a member of The Arthur Page Society, the Communication Workgroup of the Conference Board and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She has served as an international executive board member for IABC and trustee of the IABC Research Foundation.
Wamble-King holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts and Sociology from the University of the Pacific and a Master of Science in Mass Communication from California State University.
