So what is a Speaking of Women’s Health conference day like?

At the morning registration, attendees receive a beautiful gift bag. Bags are filled with educational materials and gifts that are provided by local sponsors.

During the continental breakfast, attendees review their programs and choose the breakout sessions to attend for the day. Attendees have time to visit the sponsor booths, many health screenings and demonstrations.

Attendees convene in the grand ballroom for a welcome from Michael Boylan, President & CEO of WJCT, and Cynthia Anderson, MD radiation oncologist at Baptist Health, followed by a yoga demonstration and the morning keynote.  This year’s morning keynote speaker is Joy Bauer, one of the nation’s leading health authorities. As the nutrition and health expert for NBC’s TODAY show, Joy shares reliable, practical, and straightforward advice that helps millions of Americans eat better and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Following the morning keynote presentation, attendees head to breakout sessions. These sessions cover a multitude of topics—stroke with Baptist Health Stroke Center, financial health with VyStar Credit Union, skin care with Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery, hormone health with North Florida OB/GYN, and hearing with Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute, among many others. Attendees can attend the breakout sessions that are important to their personal health and well-being issues — it’s taking a piece of education with you.

Attendees can also visit the Baptist Health screenings and sponsor booths. At each event, Speaking of Women’s Health provides a variety of health screenings, including heart health, bone health, vision, hearing and many more. Sponsors are on hand to answer questions, provide insights and talk to women about their unique interests.

Attendees then enjoy an elegant sit-down lunch with festive decorations that add to the celebratory atmosphere. During lunch, Speaking of Women’s Health celebrates honorees who have made significant impacts in their community. This is an opportunity to make new friends and connect with others that may have similar healthcare concerns or interests.

Following the lunch, there are additional breakout sessions and time to visit the health screenings and sponsor booths. The day ends with afternoon keynote comedienne and professional speaker, Jan McInnis. Jan gives practical tips on handling life’s curveballs through using humor. She also shows people how to diffuse tension instantly, kick off tough conversations and facilitate communications through using humor. And, last but not least, we’ll top off your day with terrific door prizes donated by many of the sponsors. Don’t believe us? Come to the Speaking of Women’s Health conference and see for yourself!
