Join Junior Achievement on October 20 for their signature event to benefit the JA Girl$ program, featuring keynote speaker Sonia Manzano.

Smart women have for centuries turned the world, the community, and their families around during times of economics crisis. Join Junior Achievement of North Florida in showcasing a local and national award-winning program teaching girls about money, careers, and entrepreneurship.

Keynote Speaker: Sonia Manzano, “Maria” on Sesame Street and Author

For over 30 years, Sonia Manzano inspired, educated, and delighted children and families as “Maria” on Sesame Street. Named among the “25 Greatest Latino Role Models Ever” by Latina Magazine, Manzano broke ground as one of the first Hispanic characters on national television. At this year’s $mart Women Make Change!, hear Manzano’s tale of perseverance and courage as she overcame countless obstacles to become one of the most influential Latinas in television.

The audience will also hear from young women participating in the JA Girl$ program and see the program’s impact in Jacksonville.

100% of proceeds benefit JA Girl$, a Junior Achievement initiative teaching girls ages 8-18 about money, careers and entrepreneurship. JA Girl$ has served more than 19,000 girls in Northeast Florida since its inception in 2006.
